This project was inspired by the work of Tish Murtha and how she documents social realism in her images from the Elswick estate in Manchester 1981. I took a series of photographs to document the two sides of life lived on the estate. The first being the disadvantaged, run down low-income households and secondly, the emerging gentrification and popularity of the tower as an increasingly fashionable and iconic place to live.
